Admission Requirements

St. Teresa’s Minor Seminary admits two groups of candidates. These candidates are First Years Candidates and Post-Secondary / High School Graduates

First Year Candidates

The candidate must:
1. Be a baptized Catholic and exhibit interest and zeal to be a priest.
2. Bring the original and photocopy of his baptismal certificate.
3. Have completed Junior high school .
4. Bring a recommendation letter from the parish priest or the parochial vicar
* Entrance interviews for these candidates are conducted in the course of the year. Date(s) for the interviews will be announced.

Post-SHS / High School Graduates

The candidate must:
1.Be a baptized and confirmed Catholic
2. Bring the original and photocopy of his baptismal and confirmation certificates
3. Have completed Secondary / High School (and be eligible for any tertiary institution or university) or a tertiary graduate
4. Bring the original and photocopy of his Secondary / High School certificate
5. Provide recommendation letters from his Parish Priest or parochial vicar and the Vocations' director
and/or Principal of the High / Secondary / any other institution previously attended

Post SHS /POST SS

Those who aspire to the priesthood must have been recommended from minor seminaries or must have received the same human and scientific formation which prepares one for higher studies in other institutions of higher learning (Canon 234.2).

FOREIGN APPLICANTS:

Foreign applicants, (Applicants from Dioceses other than those served by the seminary), shall be admitted upon the recommendation of their Local Ordinary and the consent of the Archbishop of Cape Coast.

Library & Media Center

The academic growth of a seminarian depends not only on classroom teaching but also on complementary knowledge gained through independent research and reading. For this reason, a seminarian is encouraged to use the school library and full-internet computer lab, not only for class assignments but also for leisure time reading and enjoyment.

Internet-Based Learning

Our lessons are available offline and online. Tutors effectively interact with student via online based tutoring. The portal allows access to our academic management system.

Self-Study

There are leisure times that a student is allowed to visit and learn at his pace -what computing and the world of information technology has to offer.

Academic Calendar

The 2022 academic calendar is designed and planned in coordination with the leadership of CHASS keeping in mind the need to ensure that schools achieve closing the gap in learning due to schools closures for COVID-19 prevention.

Intellectual freedom is every learner's right. Our school library is a unique and essential part of the seminary community. We make reading the core of personal and academic competency

Information Technology

Information technology must be appropriately integrated and equally availiable. St. Teresa's I.T. labs equip you with advanced skills in computer systems, programming, creating web pages, and basic animation.

Formation

St. Teresa’s Minor Seminary also seeks to help and motivate the seminarian in his effort to establish and foster personal and intimate relationship with God the Father in Jesus Christ, His Son, through the Holy Spirit.

STOBA -St. Teresa’s Old Boys Association has been a great pillar of support in challenging times. The association sets an annual goal of supporting and galvanizing all members throughout the year to drive home the much-needed funds to enable the seminary to run effectively.
